What’s this?

Before our Tip 5 there was our Top 5. These are the archived pages from our 5 weekly hot tips from yesteryear.

1: Wilderness & Techno

The Christmas season is the family season. And in our book, one of the most ideal family activities is everyone behind a big screen watching an awesome movie (and dashing through the snow, and singing around the Christmas tree, and having awesome dinners and one stiff drink too many, sure sure).

This Kern list are 5 tips of movies you SHOULD watch, combined with movies we PLAN to watch ourselves. First off: Our tip of an unlimited amount of feel good and fun: Hunt for the Wilderpeople. Our primary wannawatch: Beats

2: Siths, Stormtroopers, Darths and a handful of Rebels.

Next up: Star Wars and Star Wars. Our tip for the ultimate Star Wars: the complete franchise (just take a trial subscription at Disney TV and binge it!). Also be sure to watch the Anthology films Solo: A Star Wars Story (or simply Solo) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (or simply Rogue One) The Mandalorian. The one we plan to see: The Rise of Skywalker. Extra tip: check out the super cool mini doc on the evolution of the Stormtrooper masks!!

3: West meets East

We all agree this one is timeless AND superfantastic fun: Home Alone. And about this one, we don’t have a clue. It’s Korean, it’s probably weird and both critics and public say it’s awesome: Parasite.

4: Horror stop motion comedy & Horror all-stars comedy

A classic feel good fairytale from Tim Burton for kids of all ages: The Nightmare Before Christmas. And this baby, from the twisted mind of Jim Jarmush with – holy shit! – Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton, Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Selena Gomez, Carol Kane, Austin Butler, Luka Sabbat and Tom Waits: The Dead don’t Die.

5: Docs

To finish off, we suggest two documentaries. One’s the amazing story of the discovery of the completely unknown photographer Vivian Maier. The other is the Netflix doc American Factory.
