Tip 5 — week 44, 2022

What’s this?

These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about in our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.

1: Terra Coffica

There is always a way to design a cooler coffee machine. But the folks over at Ammunition Group are hard to top. After their Terra Kaffe 01 (TK-01), they found ways to improve. Nice!

2: Lighten up

Scale is a collective of 11 artists who create damn cool lighting installations for art and parties. At most parties a smoke machine, a strobelight and a couple of red spots suffice. But if an organiser insists on making it special: Scale is the way to go!

3: Street art

This week we ran into a post about the paintings in the wild by Spanish artist Julio Anaya Cabanding. Cool stuff, but it reminded us of the New York Beautification Project from 1999-2001 by Ellen Harvey. Be sure to keep clicking [Next] on each page!

4: Taking a piss

Paul Bommer is taking a piss – quite literally – with the quaint art of Delft Blue porcelain painting. No farm girls in traditional clothing, tulips and windmills, but cocks, cocks, cocks!!

5: Ahrend 380 or Circuform Rex?

Ineke Hans designed a chair in the spirit of Friso Kramer’s Dutch design classic Revolt for Ahrend, the 380. It featured recycled and recyclable plastics. Now there’s the Rex by Circuform.
