Tip 5 — week 43, 2022

What’s this?

These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about in our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.

1: Tip 4?!

Pencilbooth is a pretty cool concept that goes against the horrible algorythm shalowness of many social media; PencilBooth is a micro-newsletter service that lets you directly reach their clients and followers in the place they are most active — their tried and true email (with WhatsApp and SMS delivery coming soon).

2: Kotok yourself.

Just because their president is a total asswipe doesn’t mean you should hate the other Russians. After all, how can you hate something as awesome as Kotok Toys? It’s a bit like Vitra toys, but cooler.

3: Web 3.0 updated

Awwwards, the most relevant webdesign blog, got a lovely redesign. Of course you should stay up to date by following what’s on Godly and SiteInspire as well ; )

4: Lunch with designers

London’s Design District’s canteen by Selgascano (who have something going for yellow) is open to anyone. It’s not so much a canteen as it is a food market, but that’s not the point. What is the point is how cool it looks. Let’s meet for lunch!

5: Fro-doh

Artist Frode Bolhuis creates ceramic universes that have incredible color schemes (it’s some sort of Play-Doh Pro). Though Frode’s world is definitely his own, it looks related to Jaime Hayon’s.
