What’s this?
These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about at our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.
1:
Animate the inanimate
How to animate the inanimate? This is the question that has inhabited the work of Jean-Simon Roch. A bit like a modern day Geppetto, everything often starts from a small piece of wood handled at his atelier ‘Commode’ in Montreuil, France.
2: I’m a Hater
Design critique, much like any other criticism nowadays, falls into two opposite camps – and neither one is very constructive. Art Director Elizabeth Goodspeed elaborates on the collapse of design critique on Itsnicethat.com
3: Mirofolio
All it takes is an idea. Like this portfolio by Perth-ian artist Jonathan Zawada. Just a plain Miro-board. Easy on the software updates, easy interface, easy content management system.
4: Webshopping by Night
Rotterdam designer Ward Van Gemert is mainly interested in mixing elements of high culture and popular culture into his designs. Also, he is keen on investigating the boundaries between good taste and bad taste.
5: Ini Mini Music
Tinytracks is a web app for kids to create and dive into electronic music. Originally designed for school workshops, now for everyone to have fun. Now everyone can be a Mozart, even adults!
