Tip 5 — week 39, 2022

What’s this?

These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about in our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.

1: Hope on Water

Designed by SO? and collaborators, ‘Fold&Float’ is a foldable structure made out of light steel construction, specially developed for emergency situations, merging architecture with engineering and sociology. Let’s have some more emergencies please!

2: A new League of our own

Our favorite self initiated project is The League Extraordinaire, a football scarf project with 4 designs per season created by our favorite artists. This year’s league features Studio GdB, Hense, Tim Biskup and Daan Rietbergen. The pre-order period ends October 15, so HURRY HURRY HURRY!!!

3: Sabine makes it shine

Rotterdam designer Sabine Marcelis makes product, installation and interior designs. Her taste in styling and use of materials is spot on and works its magic from interiors in Miami (or rather Rome) to Eemnes.

4: Is it scripted?

Swiss Typefaces created some of our favorite typefaces (Euclid, Suisse, Sangbleu) and now comes with a lab-result that has been 10 years in the making: Raskal. Not necessarily aestheticly pleasing, but rock solidly good! Dan Reynolds wrote an awesome bio of Raskal!

5: Factory records

PO-80 is a DIY record factory to produce lo-fi music created by design masterminds Teenage Engineering and Japanese sound artist, designer and  musician Yuri Suzuki.
