What’s this?
These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about at our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.
1:
We’re screwed
Oliver Boualam’s participatory and experimental objects always search for the fun and unusual in everyday routines. With this in mind, he recently designed a series of practically unusable corkscrews. Here’s a big screw you to everyone who wants to raise a glass.
2: Brickbike
Fatbikes, eat your heart out. Based on every boy’s childhood memory Lego Kit 8810, engineer and inventor Matt Denton litterally built a life-size Lego cafe racer.
3: Inscript
Inscript, the go-to virtual event for all things at the overlap of technological and typographic innovation is back for its third year this October 16th. Among the speakers are hard-hitters Studio Feixen and Julian Hespenheide.
4: Maroni
Calame.Bureau designed the awesome typeface Maroni as part of their identity design for the ‘Marronnage’ exhibition in the Maison de l’Amérique Latine in Paris. The typography is based on the shapes and patterns, traditionally used by the Marron people of Suriname.
5: Make it a party
The OG-hipsters from Hipstamatic have come up with something new. By translating the principle of the disposable camera to an app: get everyone’s point of view with the Party-app. It gives partypeople access to the same camera roll, not viewable until the next morning when the photos are revealed.
