Tip 5 — week 29, 2023

What’s this?

These are some of the most interesting and beautiful things that we talked about at our studio this week. We show you the stuff that we have come across on instagram, the web or in real life and that inspires and excites us. And yes, sometimes we mingle in our own projects. We enjoy sharing it with our friends, colleagues and anyone interested. Below this week’s 5 tips, here our collected overview.

1: Renault Sabine

We featured Sabine Marcelis before, triggered by her exquisite esthetics. But now she sunk her teeth in a cool concept car for Renault. Renault has been doing pretty cool concept cars with artists over the last few years (like this & this), it’s turning into a sweet tradition!!

2: Daytime boom!

Fireworks are pure agony for one and total bliss for the other. Commissioned by Anthony Vaccarello for Saint Laurent, the artist Cai Guo-Qiang (yes, the Sky Ladder artist) created daytime fireworks titled When the Sky Blooms with Sakura ❤️💥

3: Bottom up

Point your macro-lensed-camera at something and you have almost instant art. Yet Jamie Rosencrans elevates macro photography to new hights with her unceasing recordings of what happens at the forrest floor. Wild!

4: Script education

Typetogether is a friendly font foundry with an amazing project: Primarium. Primarium is a pioneering educational project by TypeTogether which studied the methods of Latin script-based handwriting instruction for primary school children, spanning five continents and about one-quarter of the world. So much fun browsing through the impressive collection of images from around the world! ❤️

5: Quick brown fox 2.0

Type nerds are a fun breed. For ages type has been set in either  paragraphs of Lorem Ipsum, random news or a variation of The quick brown fox jumps over a lazy dogJonathan Hoefler gave it some thought and came up with a almost perfect representation of (English) type proofing text.
