Tip 5 — week 15, 2024  

What’s this?

We moved to our new studio space!! And also, we just launched a special off season scarves collection with our label The League Extraordinaire!! So many exclamation marks!! Below this week’s 5 very KERN-centered tips, here our collected overview.

Thomas & Jurgen merge graphic techniques and selfmade tools to create compositions of organic shapes and simple structures. For the scarf designs, T&J translated their tactile approach into a digital pixel universe, showing the back- and front-end of the same stroke. 

2: Philip Lindeman

Philip knows how to draw you into his own world. Philip creates a universe of clear lines and vibrant characters who live in weird metropolitan worlds but wind up in recognisable situations. He builds on joyful and cheerful atmospheres and deleivers a really happy scarf to this special league.

3: Team Thursday

Team Thursday (TT) is the graphic design studio of Loes van Esch and Simone Trum. We are complete suckers for their excellent sense of typography, their bold colors and eclectic patterns. Their scarf design features a really cool layered pattern mixed with custom made typography; twinkling & trembles.

Our joint effort with Daan has been in the works for quite a while, so we’re really happy that we finally got to team up with him! Daan’s designs and paintings are focused on systems, extreme minimalism, architectural shapes and very basic colors. We love his abstract way of thinking and at the same time the urge to create structure and repetition. He works on large size walls and now translates that monumental approach to an awesome scarf design for our League!!

And then there is our new studio/office space!! Yes, we loved our old spot in the old town center of Deventer, but our new space rocks!! 
We set up the Tilt Designhub, where we accomodate our studio, a project space and further studio spaces for Golbach & Co., Studio Ghost and studio Vormbaas. More info coming shortly 🥳
