Friday TopFiveDay! #56

Our favorites of week 51

Kern’s festive gift guide

Every week we share a top 5 of the most interesting, coolest, funniest and most exciting stuff that we have encountered on the web and elsewhere. In our studio we have been sharing things that we see around us and that we find remarkable, for as long as we’ve been a team. This way we keep each other informed of the world outside of our personal perspective, because we have a collective hunger for the new.

With this overview we give you some insight into what fascinates us. In addition to projects from clients and self-initiated projects, this is what Jort, Vivian, Jord, and John Patrick are talking about in the studio. Do share this list and let us know if you have any tips!

Pickled X-mas

This week we’ll focus on the perfect last minute gifts for this Christmas. And nothing says warm family gatherings in the age of Corona like Mister Pickles!! So get your hands on this cozy gem. They have a slightly more mellow figure from under the sea if pickle gore is not for you.

Gradient progress

Did you commit to jigsaw puzzles in lockdown yet? This one will probably drive you gradiently more frustrated…

Home blobs

Wang & Söderström created a wonderfully weird range of products for Hay. It seems a bit of a riff on the Marcel Wanders Snot Vase, but hay, who cares : )

Meandering through the snow

Techno. Of course, not everyone’s cup of tea. But Geert’s first release on his Sonntag label is deep and may shake some X-mas drowsiness off your shoulders. Even better, it’s the perfect gift to enjoy the rest of the year. And the kicker? We created the designs with kick ass photography by Natasja Martens and type supplied by Playtype.

2020 Cook off

Finally two books that we considered nice gifts: Carcasse & Flavour.

Hohoho, make the best of this Christmas and enjoy it like it was 2021!!
