Our favorites of week 36
The smashing 5
Every week we share a top 5 of the most interesting, coolest, funniest and most exciting stuff that we have encountered on the web and elsewhere. In our studio we have been sharing things that we see around us and that we find remarkable, for as long as we’ve been a team. This way we keep each other informed of the world outside of our personal perspective, because we have a collective hunger for the new.
With this overview we give you some insight into what fascinates us. In addition to projects from clients and self-initiated projects, this is what Jort, Vivian, Jord, and John Patrick are talking about in the studio. Do share this list and let us know if you have any tips!
These days type designers seem to have the coolest websites of all cool web sites. This week we bumped into Extraset from Switzerland. Holy shit x 2: one for the bad ass type designs and one for the killer website.
Nxt is the first museum in the Netherlands dedicated to new media art. Although we keep away from Corona hot-zone Amsterdam for a bit, this is on our to do list for future visits!
Top notch geezer
Audiobooks for kids
This concept looks almost to good to be true; Yoto is a connected screen-free smart speaker. Made for children, controlled with physical cards and playing only the audio content parents want them to listen to. No camera. No microphone. No Ads. Cool.
Emigre is the intellectual magazine on graphic design that was founded by Rudy VanderLans and Zuzana Licko and that defined the graphic field in the 90s and early 2000s. For die hard designers who love magazines but fail to gather the fortune needed to buy all emigres on ebay nowadays, Letterform Archive put them all online.
