Friday TopFiveDay! #36

Our favorites of week 21

5’s the magic number

Every week we share a top 5 of the most interesting, coolest, funniest and most exciting stuff that we have encountered on the web and elsewhere. In our studio we have been sharing things that we see around us and that we find remarkable, for as long as we’ve been a team. This way we keep each other informed of the world outside of our personal perspective, because we have a collective hunger for the new.

With this overview we give you some insight into what fascinates us. In addition to projects from clients and self-initiated projects, this is what Jort, Vivian, Jord, and John Patrick are talking about in the studio. Do share this list and let us know if you have any tips!

Semi lockdown at our studio; we’ve started working in small teams in our studio space again (so good to see each other in real life compared to screen life!), but we still end up chatting away in Zoom, Teams, Whereby and Meet. Hope all of you are doing fine, these 5 will bring some joy hopefully : )

Office Slack

MSCHF, we put them in our top 5 quite recently, but they rock so hard and this one NEEDED your attention; The Office on Slack in your own Slack channel. The Office (US) is without debate one of the funniest shows in TV history. Little scoop in case you haven’t heard it yet: next week a sequel of sorts kicks off at Netflix: Space Force, featuring Steve Carell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Jimmy O. Yang and created by Greg Daniels & Steve Carell (wha-wha-whaaaat!!!).

Qúaråntinë Plàÿ

It took a while for IKEA to have publicity campaign that’s worthwhile, but this one by Russian agency Instinct is pretty spøt ön!

Kara Swisher & the dog

Podcasts. There is the original, the offspring, the hit success, the cozy ladies and the weird. And then 80.000.000 niche versions in between. Pivot is one of those niche ones maybe, but with two episodes a week on tech and business by two incredibly bright and funny presenters (Kara Swisher and Professor Scott Galloway) it is the one that keeps you on top of the tech game. Their predictions are big fun, their politically incorrect puns hilarious and their lack of sucking up to anyone in tech or politics is refreshing. Scott – the dog – Galloway now has a show at Vice TV as well.

The illustrated now

We live in strange times. Boom, shocker!! But in this time of Corona, plenty of new ideas flourish, like Fad/Gazet. A freshly illustrated and animated Instagram account that brings events of our time in a introvert and beautiful form. Kudos to Jar Geerligs (of Posters in Amsterdam fame)!

Parakeet sand to the max

Dream away with these creations of tiny zen gardens by Yuki Kawae. –can’t close video–must watch-till the end–.
